  11. When was the last time a YG artist was even out promoting? It's been almost 2 months since Lee Hi's comeback and there was no one for all of January/February. If he was holding back because of SNSD's comeback, then YG should've had either someone who isn't normally a chart-topper promote (Gummy) or had someone waiting in the wings immediately waiting to jump in when SNSD's promotions were over. Being silent for this long just isn't good business in an industry where attention-spans are so short.

That was speculation on my part, as a lot of companies held back their artists for January because they didn't want to compete with SNSD, and SNSD is still SK's biggest girlgroup in terms of CF deals and overall popularity, and 2NE1 has lost a lot of momentum because they aren't necessarily popular the way an idol's popularity is determined (ie: drama roles, cf's, varities, etc).



    Also, I disagree, I think it's absolutely necessary to have an artist promoting if you're in the idol industry, especially when you have as many artists as YG does (many of whom have solo projects) with new groups hoping to debut. It's just a good business decision to make sure they don't overlap and are equally promoted so no fanclub feels slighted--last time I checked, Black Jacks weren't exactly a happy fandom, yes?



    So what happens is YG keeps pushing back releases, delaying comebacks so their artists aren't competing against one another, and while they're waiting, every other group is jumping ahead of them. To me, that's just bad management.

  32. After catching up on the older YG girl group articles I've noticed that netizens seem determined to dislike them. I even saw a comment from an I-fan stating they hoped this group would fail because YG himself needs to be "humbled".


    What about Kim Eunbi? She was on Kpop Star the same season as Seung Hoon & has been training for the same amount of time & can sing circles around most idols. She doesn't deserve a shot at success?


    It's sad to me that young girls are being hated for daring to want to be idols at a popular company. I'm praying they stay away from the malicious comments being spewed online. And if they don't find success with YG, I hope each girl goes on to show their talents elsewhere.

  48. exactly right! I was super excited to see another group come out but now it's just whatever especially when he released the teasers of the girls...they weren't THAT good. Although YG is horrible at managing, I think him releasing teasers was to test the publics opinion of the girls talent...and now that he realized a lot of the comments were calling them out for being average he's not going to debute them anytime soon. Right now he should just stop talking and start DOING. I would rather him say nothing and then randomly release a teaser...that would be so much better.

  49. I agree 2ne1 should have came out with their album like he said they would in January. It doesn't matter if SNSD wins or they did...it would have brought the hype back up again...two of the top girl groups competing against eachother...and honestly I like SNSD...but their song wasn't that good...so it was really bad judgement for YG to not release 2ne1 at that time, because maybe they would have won with their song (if it was better). He's just annoying now...and I think the girls see it too. CL said they would comeback in April in the Bazaar magazine...but YG was quick to say No and debunk that theory.

  59. T-ara did not bully, but yes, CCM is a horrible agency. But I'm sure YG tries to cover up many scandals too. They have had drug, sex, and plastic surgery scandals. YG is not the perfect company it pretends to be. They also worked Lee Hi so hard she was suffering bouts of deafness, which is shocking. CCM is not the only company that treats its artists bad.

  66. true, i remember at the end of 2011 YG said he's going to debut his girl group in the first half of 2012, and the boy group in the second half. now what? i think YG should never said anything if that's unlikely going to happen. and all this media playing? wouldn't people get sick of them if it's like this? i bet this girl group will be the next EXO, setting up high standards but didn't meet the expectations. and i kinda don't like that jenny girl, she has almost no expression on her face whatsoever...

  77. SNSD was coming off of "Gee" when 2NE1 debuted though. "Gee" was massive and all attention was on them thereafter. But yeah, idol market then was still small enough that a strong debut from a rookie could overshadow sunbaes' comebacks.

  78. That's exactly what happened for me with EXO. Thought they were going to debut in Janurary 2012 since they performed at the Gayos. Then SM released a trillion teasers and I just completely lost interest. I'm not even hyped about YG's new groups tbh. I'd rather see Big Bang, 2NE1, and their solo projects.
